help with scuba diving information?
i have to do an interview for my journalism class can you give me some questions and answers or just some facts about scuba diving i could use for this project??? i already know that it stands for self contained underwater breathing apparatus im going into reck diving myself.

The modern scuba regulator was invented by J-Y Cousteau and Emile Gagnan in wartime France.
Did you know the the surface pressure we are at now increases by 1 with each 33' of seawater we descend? So at 33' you have 2 atmospheres of pressure on your body and at 66' you have 3.
As you descend through the water column colours in the light spectrum are filtered out, starting with red light which is lost in only the first 10-15', followed by orange, yellow etc down to blue last.
Because of this increasing pressure the air in a scuba tank will be used-up quicker the deeper you descent.
If you breathed from a scuba tank at 66' and held your breath to the surface your lungs would want to expand to three times their size and rupture.
